The Twist High is a multi-layered high top sneaker for women that uses premium canvas and soft suede to allow for creative and unique color combinations. A classic with a twist. Pick your preferred colorway or customize your own pair. A vibrant and playful combination of bone, jeans, and olive. All the leathers used in our custom shoes are gold and silver rated by the Leather Working Group and adherent to the Leather Standard by OEKO-TEX®.

Shipping:

All of our products are made to order in a craft workshop in Portugal. After your order is processed, we try our best to dispatch them within 15 days and we will keep you informed about the entire process, from order to delivery.

Care: 

Plain Leather: Apply a thin layer of leather balm and once it’s dry, gently brush to keep the finish of the leather always in good conditions. Opt for softer hog bristles to make sure you don’t damage your sneakers. A leather protector spray is also an option to consider.

Suede: Use a brush to gently remove any dirt or dust. Brush in the direction of the fabric’s grain to avoid damaging it. Dry stains can be removed by using a white or brown gum eraser. If it doesn't work we advise you to visit your local cobbler and get additional advice.

Nubuck: Nubuck cloths are the best option to remove dirt and shiny spots. Wipe in several directions using circular motions and make sure you cover the entire nap area.

Rubber Soles: Clean the dirt with a dampened cloth and carefully soak the sole in a mixture of water and dishwashing soap. Make sure you don’t soak the upper part! Use a toothbrush with the mixture to scrub your soles. Once it’s done, dry the sneakers using a cloth.

My name is Dhruv and I was born in Lenasia, South Africa, where African and Indian cultures blend in colours, aromas, and traditions that shaped me. I grew up with the smell of boiling tea, neighbourly conversations, and the energy of cricket, a sport that has always accompanied me. 

As life became harder in my country — with rising crime, a collapsing economy, and constant power cuts — my family moved to Portugal seeking safety and stability. The adaptation wasn’t easy, filled with loneliness and silence, until I moved to Fundão. There, through projects like Matriz and Selfmade, I regained confidence, communication skills, and a sense of belonging. 

Taking part in the DiVERGE programme was another step in this journey. The idea of creating sneakers that told my own story spoke directly to my creative side and my desire to build something meaningful.

I chose a simple yet striking model, with strong colours and contrasts that represent the cultural fusion I carry with me and the changes I have lived through along the way. For me, these sneakers symbolise resilience, movement, and new beginnings. They are not just a pair of sneakers; they are a part of my identity.

In the future, I imagine myself opening my own business — perhaps a café or something connected to hospitality. I want to create something that is mine and give my future children a stable, balanced life filled with values. And if I could leave one message to the world, it would be this: Patience is the key.
